Harlington Primary School Recording Day
1 November 2017
On Monday 16 October, the Music Department at Stowe hosted 35 children and three staff from Harlington Primary School. Some time ago, we were contacted by ex Stowe staff member Julian Winn who has written a Christmas single for the charity CHUMS (a mental health and wellbeing service for children and young people). Harlington Primary have close ties with CHUMS as they have supported some of their students in the past and were delighted to be involved in recording the single. Over the past couple of months, arrangements have been underway to create a day of recording coupled with the opportunity for the children to experience the beauty of Stowe in the autumn along with its usual warm hospitality. The day was a great success with the single being recorded in only a small number of takes, we were all impressed with the hard work that had already been put in before they arrived. Our thanks to Alan Longworth for capturing the day on film and providing much needed publicity shots as well as the large group of music scholars who assisted during the day, especially at lunch. The single is due for release very soon and more information on supporting this very worthwhile cause will follow.
