Fright Night

FrightNight

‘Fright Night on Friday 13th’ was the first Junior Literary Society event of the year, as twenty enthused Third, Fourth and Fifth Form Stoics swished around their palates a variety of chilling extracts from demanding literary texts. Gruesome murder scenes, apocalyptic visions and moments of horror were all sampled as groups of pupils worked their way around the room, with each extract they encountered more spine-tingling than the last. A competitive ‘Kahoot!’ quiz battle on the session’s texts, which included the likes of Cormac McCarthy’s ‘The Road’ and Bram Stoker’s ‘Dracula’, capped off an evening of frightful literary fun.
