David Williams-Ellis' (Temple 77) latest work has been unveiled as part of D-Day’s 75th Anniversary. David was commissioned by the Normandy Memorial Trust to create a sculpture to occupy the centre point of the new British Normandy Memorial overlooking Ver-sur-Mer, France.

The memorial is the first to record the names of the 22,442 men and women serving under British command, who made the ultimate sacrifice in securing the freedom of Western Europe. The 18-foot sculpture, consisting of three bronze infantry figures armed with weapons, was unveiled today at the inauguration of the memorial site to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the landings.

David will hold an exhibition of the Normandy Soldier maquettes at the Portland Gallery later in the year.
