Despite the national dip in results with the second wave of the new reformed A Levels coming into force, Stowe School is celebrating a strong set of A Level results. 63% of all grades were achieved at A*/B and roughly a third achieved either an A* or an A.

Many students have achieved very strong results and have met or exceeded their predictions. 17 pupils achieved at least three A grades, with two students getting the full house of three A*s. Two more notched two A*s and all A grades and nine further pupils achieved A*AA or A*AAA. All of these results are a testament to a lot of dedication and hard work by the students and they are to be congratulated on their achievements!

The teaching staff at Stowe have also worked incredibly hard, often having to negotiate new specifications, and can be very pleased with what their students have achieved. Several departments have helped their students to achieve impressive results. Languages results were especially good with French, Italian, Latin, Russian and Chinese all seeing over 80% of grades at A*/B. The Art, Design and History cohorts also achieved over 80% A*/B grades and Chemistry, Music and Politics achieved over 70% A*/B.

University destinations are now being confirmed, but so far reports suggest that a high number achieved the grades needed for their first choice universities. Destinations include Oxford, Cambridge, Edinburgh, Durham, Imperial, LSE, Exeter, Bristol, Warwick, St Andrew’s, Nottingham, Newcastle, Birmingham, Leeds, Cardiff, QMUL, KCL and UCL, just to name a few. We wish them every success.
