80th Anniversary of VE Day

Stowe marked the 80th Anniversary of VE (Victory in Europe) Day in Chapel this morning.

The CCF led proceedings with a procession of the Contingent Colours and a reading by the Head Cadet, with the whole School singing the National Anthem among other hymns.

To the families who waited, hoped, and endured, and the millions who gave their lives so others could live freely – we remember, we honour, we thank you.

A two-minute silence at midday will offer the chance to pause and reflect on the sacrifices made for peace and freedom.
