Your Pledge Counts

Achieving Change 100’s goals will take a community effort and, for many, leaving a gift – of whatever size – in their Will may be the most practical way of supporting Stowe’s bursary programme. As building our endowment is a long term exercise, if you wish to pledge a legacy donation - we can recognise that pledge now and thank you in your lifetime – for a gift that may not be received for some years to come.

A Lasting Gift

Leaving a bequest to Stowe’s bursary endowment will mean that your donation – unless you request otherwise – will forever be in the Bursary Fund and part of the fundamental fabric of the School. The growth of your donation will be used to ensure that it is protected against devaluation and provides an income that will forever help provide life-changing opportunities for talented children.

Tax Benefits of Legacy Giving

Donating a charitable gift in your Will can reduce the overall tax paid to HMRC on your estate. The example shown below demonstrates how a £50,000 donation to Stowe could only cost your estate £25,000.

If you would like to make a gift to Stowe in your Will, we recommend that you consult a solicitor, who will be able to advise you about all the issues you should consider and will ensure the new Will or codicil have the effect you intend, if you have any further questions please do contact the Development Office.

The Roxburgh Society

Membership of the Roxburgh Society is open to all those who have pledged to make a donation in their Will to Stowe School. The Society currently has around 160 members who are all invited to an annual lunch held in the States Rooms here at Stowe. It is a very convivial and enjoyable occasion attended by likeminded Old Stoics.
