Life before Stowe
I am rather embarrassed to admit quite how long I have been at Stowe so will just say I am one of the more long-serving members on the staff. I met my husband Rory here (he was Under Housemaster of Walpole and I was Under Housemistress in Nugent), married in Stowe Church and went on to have two children.
What do you enjoy most about Stowe?
After a few years at Stowe I became Head of Geography, a post I filled for about ten years. I then took over the role as Senior Tutor, a job which has gradually evolved over the last few years to meet the needs of a co-educational and larger school, and am a member of the School Management Team.
What do others say about you?
I suspect I am most well-known by all those who have had the pleasure of bringing me their various Report Cards to scrutinise and am not, therefore, every Stoic’s favourite teacher! On a much more positive note, I see a great many Stoics every week who have been awarded excellent TWO grades, Commendations and Benes and I also have the pleasure of organising the prize-giving events of Speech Day.
I love to travel - both abroad and within the UK. I have pretended to join in on our numerous family windsurfing holidays in Greece and Turkey but over the years have decided that mountain biking is slightly less stressful than being catapulted over a sail! My real passion, however, is skiing, a pastime that I am not particularly skilful at, but one where I love to ski as fast as I possibly can, with occasional mishaps to show for it.
