Life before Stowe
Most recently I have been a vicar in Central London. My church was literally a stone's throw from Victoria Coach Station (if you have a good arm). Prior to that I was chaplain at Eton (for 10 years) and Radley (for 7). My first job after Durham University was working with ex-offenders.
What do you enjoy most about your subject?
I enjoy exploring ideas and seeing why people believe what they believe. I also love it when people realise that you can be a thinking person and still have a faith at the same time!
What do you enjoy most about Stowe?
The warmth and friendliness of Stoics who have been incredibly welcoming.
I am also enjoying waking up to the sound of owls hooting and foxes barking rather than the noise of sirens and the 44 bus which used to stop and announce its arrival outside our bedroom window all through the night - this is a great place to live!
What is your favourite lesson?
Discussing the credibility of the Gospels, particularly the accounts of the resurrection of Jesus.
What do others say about you?
A quick straw poll came up with "friendly and approachable".
I coach Tennis and Junior Colts Rugby and also run the Service at Stowe programme.
Jesus Christ, my family, Digby (our black lab), tennis, and the piano accordion...in that order.
