Life before Stowe
Educated locally at St John’s and The Royal Latin School in Buckingham, I went on to study Drama and Theatre Studies at the University of Kent, Canterbury and to train as an actress at Drama Studio London. In 2010, following a career as an actress, I completed my PGCE at Buckingham University and have come to Stowe from St Edward’s School in Oxford where I spent the last five years as a Drama teacher, resident in The North Wall Arts Centre and as Master in Charge of Swimming and Head of Shell (Year 9).
What do you enjoy most about your subject?
Life is Art
What do you enjoy most about Stowe?
So far… the inspiring surroundings, the Roxy Theatre and an ethos that celebrates individuality and creativity.
What is your favourite Lesson?
My favourite lesson is one that has pupil led learning at its heart. Last academic year I was privileged enough to teach a Fifth Form GCSE Drama set who had developed such a high level of independent thinking skills, discipline and intellectual curiosity that they told me they didn’t need me anymore. At this point I believed I had succeeded as a teacher.
What do others say about you?
I asked my children Kizzy and Sascha for inside information on this. They said ‘very nice’ and ‘nice’.
Sharing a 21st Century educational journey with my children Kizzy (Queen’s) and Sascha (Bruce). Oh and enjoying the occasional acting job when my agent calls.
I am passionate about personal and professional development, acquiring new skills and knowledge whether that is through creating, directing, independent study, reading, visiting the theatre or training in the gym.
