Life before Stowe
I was Head of Brass at Shrewsbury for 26 years. In addition I was simultaneously Head of Brass at Berkhamsted School for 17 years. I also spent one or two days a week, for five or six years each, at Cheltenham College, St. Edward’s, and Haberdashers’ Aske’s Boys’ School.
What do you enjoy most about your subject?
I love to share my enthusiasm for something that I love doing.
What do you enjoy most about Stowe?
Stowe is a magical place, and Stoics are great to work with.
What is your favourite Lesson?
All of my pupils are different, and so are all of the groups. I love the variety.
What do others say about you?
At Shrewsbury I was described as a legend. Probably because I was there for such a long time! It’s too early to know what Stoics think...
I am often seen in the swimming pool, and I try to go on DoE expeditions as often as I can.
I try to swim at least 1,000m every day. I enjoy cooking. I’m always happy in the mountains, either walking or skiing.
