Life before Stowe
I grew up in the Surrey Hills around Guildford before moving up north to study for my undergraduate degree in Geography at the University of Nottingham. I then moved on to St. Hugh's College at the University of Oxford where I completed my PGCE before joining Stowe.
What do you enjoy most about your subject?
Geography literally means "earth description" and is devoted to the study of the lands, features, inhabitants, and the phenomena of our intricate and fascinating planet... what is there not to enjoy?
What do you enjoy most about Stowe?
Despite the beautiful surroundings, it's the students that make life at Stowe so enjoyable. Their constant desire to learn and develop in the classroom and on the sports fields drives me every day and their politeness and fantastic manners are always most welcome, even on the toughest of days.
What is your favourite lesson?
Introducing the Sixth Form students to Urbex or Urban Exploration and seeing their minds blown by the beauty and uniqueness of abandoned spaces.
What do others say about you?
An average bloke enjoying life.
I am a Third Form Tutor and Under Housemaster in Grafton as well as a rugby coach for the U16s.
I have a passion for most sports but spend my spare time playing football, cricket and golf. I have a strange obsession with the Indian Premier League and avidly follow the Boston Red Sox while trying not to get too upset when Liverpool lose or draw to every team in the bottom half of the league. There is nothing more important to me than exploring other countries and cultures and so travelling forms a large part of my time during the holidays.
