Life before Stowe
I did an undergraduate degree in English at La Sorbonne Nouvelle, in Paris. Before that, I did “prépa”. I used to love giving private tuition in English and French Literature... Tutoring has always been one of my favourite things.
What do you enjoy most about your subject?
I love the pupils’ quirky attempts to translate sometimes and then discussing the bits of language that get lost in translation. It is also immensely enjoyable to help Stoics become more fluent and confident as individual speaking lessons allow me to develop a better understanding of their academic needs.
What do you enjoy most about Stowe?
It is an exceptional place of work. I try never to forget that and make the most of it.
What do others say about you?
You will have to ask them! Hmm, a perfectionist? Some people might say that my “French bluntness” sometimes acts out but that is cultural... right? I have been told that I am very frank but also warm and understanding.
I paint and draw in my free time. I am also very keen on music and spend a good amount of my day digging the Internet for new bands I might like... I believe that every good linguist must nurture its musical ear.
