Life before Stowe

I studied Modern Languages in Colombia and did a PGCE in the UK. In between I lived in the US and with my husband in Germany for several years. I have a family with two girls and two boys and love to do a variety of sports.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

Spanish is lively, broad and fun. Most students enjoy it and we can explore the culture, music, art, literature, politics and history of such a fascinating variety of countries. It is highly interactive and I love to hear the experiences and thoughts of the students.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

I enjoy most the community of highly interesting people in beautiful surroundings, the personality and vision of teachers and students and the ability to engage my passion for languages and culture within a supportive and appreciative environment.

What is your favourite Lesson?

I am a huge fan of Gabriel García Marquez, the literature noble prize winner. I love to teach 'Chronicle of a Death Foretold' (Cronica de una muerte anunciada) as it shows so much of the Colombian culture, thought and behavioural patterns.

What do others say about you?

“She has a lot of energy and also she is very passionate about using the target language in the lessons”.

Other hats

I am in charge of the youth work at the Buckingham tennis club and love to organise dance and culture events. While I am not a case for Oliver Sachs, another of my ‘hats’ are my four children, Anna, Nicolás, Sophia and Olly.

Passions

I have a passion for dancing, football, tennis and volleyball. Beyond music, sport and my family, I love to share my passion for South American literature, cuisine and culture.
