Life before Stowe

I have worked in education for over ten years, most of which was spent at a large agricultural college and university. During this time, I gained a range of qualifications, including an MSc in International Business, a BSc in Equine Science, and British Horse Society qualifications in horse care, yard management, riding, and coaching. I am passionate about developing pupils and providing a well-rounded, holistic educational experience.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

First and foremost, I enjoy working with the horses themselves. Each has a unique personality, and I find it incredibly rewarding understanding how to bring out the best in them as individual athletes. My favourite part of the day is when pupils arrive at the stables. I am passionate about developing them as riders, improving their horse care, and equipping them with lifelong skills.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

The setting at Stowe is truly breathtaking. Alongside this, there is a very supportive culture, with everyone working together to provide an outstanding experience for the pupils.

What is your favourite lesson?

My favourite lessons are teaching jumping. I particularly enjoy helping pupils ride technical lines and supporting them as they build confidence and progress in their abilities.

What do others say about you?

Others describe me as highly passionate about both horses and teaching, with a strong commitment to getting the best out of every pupil. I am known for being hardworking, well organised, and for maintaining high standards within the equestrian centre.

Other hats

Outside of my role at the equestrian centre, I have two horses of my own, which I care for and ride regularly. This keeps me closely connected to the practical side of equestrian life and allows me to continue developing my own skills alongside my teaching.

Passions

I am passionate about all aspects of equestrianism, from horse welfare and training to developing confident, capable riders. Outside of this, I enjoy travelling and taking holidays, particularly when it allows me to explore new places and experiences.
