Jonathan Bewes

After leaving Stowe in 1983, and graduating from Durham University in 1987, Jonathan qualified as a Chartered Accountant with KPMG. He spent 25 years as an Investment Banker, advising the Boards of large, predominantly U.K., companies on a wide range of financial and strategic issues, including, mergers/acquisitions, demergers/disposals, raising finance in the debt/equity markets, and general financial advice. He left Investment Banking in 2016, and is now Vice Chairman, Corporate and Institutional Banking, at Standard Chartered Bank, and a Non Executive Director at retailer, Next plc, where he chairs the Audit Committee. He has been a Governor since 2006.
