Life before Stowe
I joined Stowe after teaching for three years in Oxford. Before teaching I was involved in research of the Molecular Biology of viruses completing my DPhil at Oxford University.
What do you enjoy most about your subject?
Biology has so much to offer everyone and teaches you so many useful skills. The different disciplines that you can study within the subject are so diverse that it’s impossible there isn’t something you will find that interests you. Whether it’s looking at the minute changes in DNA sequence that can make you more susceptible to disease or the study of ancient life-forms.
What is your favourite Lesson?
Practical lessons when the pupils don’t already know what the result should be, there is nothing more exciting than really discovering something for yourself. I also like making/adapting board games for my lessons when a practical lesson just isn’t possible!

Outside of school the most important thing to me is spending time with my amazing friends and family, and using that as a good excuse to travel around the world to meet up. I’m a real motorsport fan and F1 nerd; I’m a casual sporting clay shooter and enjoy ‘having a go’ at almost any sport, although I don’t claim to be an expert at any!
