Life before Stowe

Having worked in the equine industry for over 30 years covering a wide range of discipline's and roles such as Yard Manager, Pony club Health and safety officer, Equine Lecturer along with organising pony club camp at Hickstead for 6 years. I have been privileged to have been trained by some amazing people in the equine Industry.
I moved to Stowe in 2011 and soon started working at the Equestrian centre once it opened in 2012 becoming Equestrian centre manager in 2016.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

Watching the pupils develop a true understanding and relationship with their horses.

What do you enjoy most about Stowe?

The community feeling and support across departments.

What is your favourite lesson?

I enjoy going to competitions with pupils and seeing how they have improved. Demonstrating their team spirit whilst representing the School.

What do others say about you?

Hard working, Honest and passionate about horses and their welfare.

My first love was horse racing and I was privileged to ride out for Josh Gifford. Later I spent many years on retraining racehorses of which I am still involved. In 2018 we qualified for RoR Goffs UK National Championships at Aintree.

I have just started riding side saddle with a goal to take part in a Concours d'Elegance class next year.
I also have a small herd of alpacas and have shown them nationally and been placed in classes open to European entries. I spin their fibre and enjoy blending with other fibres such as silk, rose and merino fleeces.
