Job Overview

The Equestrian Centre at Stowe School offers livery provision exclusively for the use of Stowe Group pupils, where horse and pupil welfare is at the heart of everything we do. There are twenty stables, an outdoor ménage, cross country course and 18 acres of grazing.

We are looking for an experienced Head of Equestrian to provide day to day management and leadership of Stowe’s Equestrian Centre and Equestrian activities across the school.

The role is varied and involves hands-on aspects of yard management as well as organisation of the team, equipment, materials and facilities, ensuring health and safety standards are met throughout. A key aspect of the role is communication with parents, pupils and Stowe colleagues and an ability to build good relationships is vital.

This is a one year fixed term maternity cover position, working alongside the current Head of Equestrian to get started and joining our existing friendly team with the running and the development of the Equestrian Centre.

Applicants must have proven experience in the equine industry and the ability to ride horses and ponies.  You will have an enthusiastic, cheerful and flexible approach with proven high standards of animal care.
