Stowe: Marble Saloon and North Front Portico Opening scene of the Victorian observatory was filmed in the Marble Saloon. A 30ft wooden telescope was constructed in the room for the film. The North Front portico became the central part of a CGI amphitheatre at the end of the film for the coronation for the new King and Queen.
