Sunny Stowe

As we move into the 300-year celebration of the birth of Lancelot 'Capability' Brown, my daily walk around the estate reminds me of how revolutionary and beautiful the English landscape-style of gardening was, and still is. From the roof of Stowe House on a clear winter’s day, the view stretches for miles.
It’s only made up of grass, trees, water and a few exotic buildings, but the composition, distance and expanse makes it look like a quintessential landscape painting – and that’s exactly how Brown would have wished it to be seen.
