The Campaign for Stowe

Stowe today is on the rise, our outlook buoyed by the confidence that comes from sustained achievement and a reputation for promoting excellence. Our student body is ripe with accomplishment and even greater potential. Our alumni have emerged as leaders in all realms of society and the House is being transformed through a programme of spectacular restoration. These foundations present a fine opportunity: with further significant investment we can bring to life the vision of Stowe as one of the country's leading schools in the most sublime setting.

We are privileged to be the stewards of Stowe, bridging the gap between its historical legacy and its future potential. Correspondingly, our development goals are appropriately ambitious. The Campaign for Stowe, led by its President Lord Sainsbury of Preston Candover KG (Grenville '45) plays an important role in the future of Stowe. Created to support both Stowe School and Stowe House, it is composed of two separate charitable trusts:

Stowe School Foundation exists to ensure continuing investment in the School's facilities and to provide vital funding for Scholarships, Bursaries and other educational programmes benefiting the pupils of Stowe. The Foundation's fundraising priorities reflect the far-reaching vision for the School and will help to ensure the future success of the School.

Stowe House Preservation Trust was established in 1997 to protect and preserve the building for the benefit of the public and the nation. Stowe's world renowned north front, central pavilion, south front and portico, marble saloon, library and Music Room have already been splendidly restored with financial support provided through the Trust. The Trust is now taking on the challenge of restoring the remaining state rooms and upgrading visitor facilities.

The Campaign has had an extraordinary impact upon the school and will continue to do so with the fundraising projects currently in progress.  For further details on any of the information listed in this section, please contact the Development Office.
