SPA Update April 2014

SPA’s first trip abroad, our Battlefields trip, has just topped off another great term of SPA events. From a Tavern tour in London (during some of this year’s worst weather so a big thank you to all that attended despite driving rain and floods!), to listening to hot air balloonist extraordinaire Robin Batchelor here at Stowe; from a wine and food matching evening in the City, to the Battlefields of Belgium, parents have enjoyed and contributed to a fantastic range of events so thank you to all who have engaged with us and, hopefully, been entertained by what we’ve put on for you!

The Summer Term is looking just as exciting and we have again, a good range of events to join us at. Please take a look at the Summer Calendar and all event details are also below. Please note that we are already sold out for the Henley Event and filling up quickly for the rest so do please email us at to reserve any tickets that you would like.

We are delighted to see increasing numbers of parents attending our events and, even more importantly, enjoying meeting new acquaintances in unique locations. It is SPA's intention to help parents make the best the "Stowe experience" and find enjoyable ways to reach out to other parents within the school whilst enjoying events that may not otherwise be accessible.

Alan and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the SPA team members for their hard work and all of the parent community for supporting our events.

Parents' Prayer Meeting

A group of parents meet once a term to pray for the school and wider needs. The next meeting will take place in the Blue Room at 11.30am on Friday 9 May, just before the exeat begins. Please e-mail Joanne Hastie Smith ( for further details.

Have Your Say!

We are always delighted to meet new parents and already have some exiting events being planned for the 2014 - 2015 School year but we are equally open to new ideas.

If you have any thoughts or suggestions, have contacts or links with places and events of interest, or are able to help and support these or other events, then please do make contact with us at or speak to any one of us.

All parents are warmly invited to be involved and attend any or all SPA meetings. The main purpose of these is to consider and plan future events. Meetings usually coincide with Exeats and other pick up points. Please contact us if you would like further details.
