Stowe Hosts 2012 England Under 16 Rugby Trials
Stowe is delighted to be hosting the 2012 England under 16 Rugby Trials. Over the next three days, 104 England hopefuls will be working hard for one of 75 places to go forward into three England squads.
Alan Hughes, Head of Boys’ Games and Rugby at Stowe and Former England under 18 coach said, “This is a great opportunity to bring the best talent England has to offer to Stowe’s doorstep. Who knows, some of them may be tempted to become Stoics!” He will be keeping a close eye on Jack Wallis, a current Stoic and Sports Scholar who has been selected to try out over the next few days.
Stowe’s rugby teams continue their successful season with recent 1st XV wins against Warwick and Uppingham. The Under 15s are doing well in the National Daily Mail Cup and are due to play their quarter final match against Lymm High School on the North Front at 2.45pm next Thursday, 23 February.
