Young Stoic cricketer off to India with England U17's

Ben Duckett (Grafton Lower 6th) is on his way to India on the 3rd February as part of the England U17 Development Squad. There they will play a series of fixtures against local opposition in Pune. Ben was Stowe's top run scorer last season scoring over 1,300 runs (including five hundreds) and he also played for Northants 2nd XI during the school holidays.

Several more Stoics have been trialling with counties this winter and currently there are 14 Stoics involved with counties across Bucks, Northants and Worcester. Two former Stoics are also enjoying some success. Former 1st XI captain John Gurney (Walpole 2010) has been selected as part of the Oxford UCCE squad to play in the MCCU Championship next summer and against the first class counties and Liam Gough (Grafton 2011) has signed a contract with the MCC Young Professionals at Lords. We wish them both every success.

For current pupils the winter programme is in full swing with the U14 & U15's preparing for their pre-season tour to La Manga and the 1st XI working hard with the goal in mind of retaining their number one ranking in the national cricket league tables and reaching the finals of the national Twenty/20 competition.
