Soccer

Up to this year, football at Stowe has predominately been a recreational sport, available Tuesday to Friday during activities. A new addition to the Schools sports calendar has seen a full fixture list being arranged for both 1st and 2nd XI teams during the Lent term. Currently, only Sixth Form are involved in the School football teams, with development sessions taking place on Thursdays during the Michaelmas term. Formal drills, tactics and technique are the main emphasis to prepare the players for the Lent term. Recreational sessions still take place during activities, which involve Stoics across all year groups.

In addition, various House competitions take place during the Michaelmas term. An Inter House tournament is held at the start of the year, involving boys and girls throughout all age groups. During the same term, the boys Houses compete in House leagues. These are played every Saturday, with the Fifth and Sixth Form playing in the Senior leagues, and the Third and Fourth Form playing in the Junior leagues.
