.22 Shooting

.22 Shooting is conducted in the CCF (Combined Cadet Force) with MOD weapons as part of the normal activity programme on Mondays.

In addition, Stowe runs a .22 Shooting Club as a School activity outside of CCF. Currently 13 boys and girls are in this Club. They use a purpose built indoor range, which is maintained by the MOD, and fire civilian target rifles, which are on long loan from our local Army Regiment. The pupils compete amongst themselves and an annual Cup is awarded. Stowe has not recently participated in any external competitions, but this is kept under review. Stowe's shooting coach is Mr John (Nat) Thornton who was Head of School Security and previous to that Kennel Huntsman.

Master in charge: Mr Ray Dawson
