Netball
Netball is continuing to develop at Stowe and is currently available as an activity in the Spring term for Senior Girls, although a club takes place for all ages in the Michaelmas term to give the teams the opportunity to practise together and for girls to foster their enjoyment of the game.
In the Netball season the three senior teams train four times a week playing a full competitive fixture list on Wednesday and Saturday afternoons against similar matched schools, including Bloxham, Downe House, Cokethorpe, Pangbourne College and Northampton High School.
The girls are fortunate to receive coaching workshops to further enhance their skills from Karen Atkinson, the England Netball Captain, who inspires them with her expertise and international credentials! The junior girls have the opportunity to play as a choice activity in the Lent term where they enjoy fixtures on a Tuesday afternoon against local schools, including Royal Latin, Thornton, Akeley Wood and Waddesdon.
Stowe does encourage any girls who have achieved a high standard to pursue the avenue to County and beyond if this is the sport they excel in with Louisa Dobbs (2010) representing Northern Ireland during her school career.
