Catering

Catering services at Stowe are provided by our own, very experienced in house team. The menus are varied, nutritionally balanced and provide a wide choice at each meal to suit all tastes, using fresh ingredients wherever possible.

Additionally, fresh fruit, bread and milk are provided daily in the Boarding House kitchens.

Meals are served in the magnificent Eighteenth Century Dining Room which began life as the State Gallery in the 1740s. It had become a dining room by 1817 and was most recently brought up to date by the addition of the servery in the Garter Room, considered one of the most important and impressive rooms at Stowe.

The servery offers three hot choices at every meal, a soup tureen, an extensive salad bar, a pasta bar and hot and cold desserts, with a free flowing service for diners.

School menus are rotated every four weeks with input from the pupils’ Stoic Council and feedback from House visits by the Catering team. A themed day is held twice a term featuring dishes from around the world.

As well as vegetarians, other special dietary needs are catered for including low cholesterol, coeliacs, nut allergies, diabetics, as well as cultural preferences. The Catering Manager welcomes contact from parents who may have dietary concerns about their children, or who may wish to pass on comments regarding the catering services provided.

The Catering team also manages the StoweBucks coffee shop on site, where hot and cold drinks, including milkshakes and smoothies are available through the afternoon in a modern, relaxing environment for those quiet moments between activities and lessons.
