Day Pupils

At Stowe, our day pupils are attached to a specific boarding House and are fully integrated into life at Stowe, taking part in as many of the extra-curricular and House activities as possible. The number of day pupils in each year group will vary from year to year and House to House, although we do try to keep an eye on the combination each year.

Each day pupil will have their own study desk and locker in their House. Day pupils are expected to stay for 1st Prep before leaving for the day (6.00 to 6.45pm for 3rd and 4th Form, Tuesday to Friday) or Clinics (5.30 to 6.30pm for 5th and 6th Form, Tuesday to Friday) if possible, unless other arrangements have been agreed with the Housemaster or Housemistress concerned.
Lessons are Monday through to Saturday morning (finishing at 12.00).

Each House will have its own timetable for regular House meetings, for which Day pupils are encouraged to stay.

Overnight stays may be possible if a bed is available, for which a small charge will be made. However, it should be noted that a regular overnight bed is not guaranteed.

During the first couple of weeks of a new academic year, day pupils often stay overnight for a few days, and indeed desire to do so. This is generally encouraged as it helps with the induction and team spirit engendered in the early part of the term each year.
