Theatre Crew & Set Design

Theatre Crew

This activity is available every Thursday afternoon in the Roxburgh Hall and is run by Mr McLean and his team of pupils.

Theatre Crew consists of many jobs and tasks from building the set for a Congreve (Junior and Senior School Drama), rigging the lights and sound equipment, painting areas of the stage or set, to general maintenance.

The crew is always looking for helping hands at the extra busy times of Congreves or Arts Festivals, it is not always glamorous but is ideal for those who want to get involved in the theatre but do not want to perform on stage! Mr Mclean and his team will instruct on how to use the lighting and sound equipment, how to rig lights etc.

It is hoped that in the future this activity can be developed further with professionals coming in to work with the crew and introducing trips to outside theatres.

Master in charge: Mr Ed McLean

Theatre Set Design

This activity runs on a Wednesday afternoon and is aimed at supporting the production that happens to be running at that time. Stoics work with the staff to design and build sets for House plays and School productions. This activity takes place in two venues - the Roxburgh Theatre and the Design Workshops.

Master in charge: Mr Steve Grimble
