Pitt Society

The Pitt Society is a sixth form history discussion group that meets each Monday evening to discuss historical ideas, watch films and hear presentations by members of the group. The Pitt Society provides a useful extension of ideas studied as part of the A level course but also tries to introduce students to new topics and the latest research being published. There is an extensive lecture programme with outside speakers coming to Stowe.

This academic year (2009/10) guests will include Lord Heseltine (Former Deputy Prime Minister, HRH Prince Michael of Kent, Sir Martin Gilbert and Professor David Starkey. At the end of each term there is a Pitt Society Dinner and in the summer there is usually a trip to Europe.
