Debating Society
The Debating Society aims to meet fortnightly, to explore topical and contentious issues through structured debate. The purpose of the Society is to allow pupils the chance to become better informed on important contemporary topics, and to teach them the skills of rhetoric, and the confidence to put forward their views in an articulate and logical fashion. The Society provides excellent training not only for aspiring lawyers or politicians, but also for any career where it is necessary to make public presentations. Pupils are prepared for House debating competitions, as well as national competitions, such as the ESU Mace.
