Creative Writing

In the Lower Sixth, all English Literature students must complete a creative writing component for coursework. They will be given considerable assistance and guidance with this, although it is important that students produce work that shows originality and independence of thought. Outside of the classroom, all Stoics are encouraged to enter both school and national creative writing competitions in all genres, including poetry and prose. They will meet to discuss their work and ideas, and to gain inspiration from each other. At the end of the year, an Anthology of students' work is put together by the English Department, for publication within the School.
