Chess Club
The Chess Club meets every Tuesday for about an hour. There is plenty of equipment and many chess books. Major events are The UK Chess International and the UK Land Chess Challenge tournaments, the first stages of which are played in internal club tournaments, with best performers playing in gigafinals at other venues. The biggest School event is the Inter-House Chess Tournament in the Summer Term. Stowe plays occasional matches against other clubs. Both beginners and advanced players are welcome.
