Art Activity

The Art Activity is run to offer Stoics opportunities to develop both their practical coursework and pursue personal work. Stoics are encouraged to move between the different disciplines on offer. One activity a week is dedicated for 6th Form to draw from the figure using a wide variety of techniques and approaches. This has enabled some of the 6th Form students who are applying to Art Schools/Foundation courses to build upon an essential element of their portfolios.

There are currently five activities a week where Stoics are able to use the excellent printmaking facilities. The delivery of Art activity is shared by the three full time members of the Art Department. Art activity is a good opportunity for Stoics to work on the contextual analysis of works of Art that plays such an important role in their development as successful GCSE and A level pupils. Above all the activity time is a chance for students and staff to have more creative flexibility than would be realistic during lessons.
