We take a small number of interns in each year. We consider internships on a case-by-case basis. If you are looking for an internship within heritage and are interested in spending time at Stowe please contact us.
We work with The University of Oxford to provide five internships for students each summer. The internships are for the duration of eight weeks and cover one of three disciplines: Community and Learning, Historical Research or Visitor Experience. The internships are residential and the interns are mentored by Stowe House staff. If you are a University of Oxford student and are interested in interning with us please check back for future opportunities or contact your Careers Service.
During the summer of 2016 our Oxford University interns turned our State Drawing Room into a recording studio for an afternoon. Families listened to an immersive soundscape which captured life at Stowe during the 18th century. We then explored sound using percussive instruments before making guitars and shakers. Everyone was recorded playing their instruments which are compiled in this soundscape.
