Darren Gough Sports Academy

My Academy is aimed at boys and girls between the ages of 9 to 13 who wish to develop their all round sporting potential. The course aims to deliver high quality coaching from a team of experienced and well qualified coaches.

Residential Academy: 26th - 30th July 2010

Non-Residential Academy: 2nd - 6th August 2010

The course will focus on cricket each morning for the boys and girls when I will be there to coach between 9am & 12pm. The afternoon a variety of alternative sports will be offered to include Hockey, Rugby, Tennis, Lacrosse, Swimming, Basketball, Golf, Athletics & Soccer. Full use of the schools' excellent facilities will be used, including 16 lanes of turf and Astroturf cricket nets, 7 cricket squares, 8 rugby pitches, double astro, swimming pool, state of the art athletics track and indoor sports complex. Academy members will be coached by a highly qualified and experienced team of coaches and will aim to deliver a course of the highest calibre. Why not meet the coaches for yourself by following this link.

Residents on the academy will be well catered for in the evenings. Tony Chan (English Teacher and Under Housemaster at Stowe) will run a varied evening programme, which will include activities such as quiz and games nights, BBQs, Cinema (in the Schools theatre complex), 5 a side soccer, a disco and of course extra nets for those who wish to continue to practice!

Scholarships

Darren is pleased to be offering four scholarships for two boys and two girls. These will be awarded to candidates of outstanding sporting potential who may not otherwise be able to join the Academy. If you would like your son or daughter to apply for the scholarship then a sporting CV must be submitted on application. Scholarship places are available on the residential course only.
