Life before Stowe

I went to the University of Sydney where I was fortunate enough to receive a scholarship which helped me complete my course and teachers' college. I taught firstly at a school west of Sydney, then moved to Melbourne where I taught in 2 schools both girls and independent - Mercy Diocesan and Ruyton Girls. I then moved to Auckland, New Zealand, back to Sydney, on to Kuala Lumpur then over to the UK where I decided to tackle a Masters - famously in Crimonology.

What do you enjoy most about your subject?

To love about Chemistry ...well... there is no other science! It is the very essence of the world around us. I am consumed!

What is your favourite Lesson?

I could be really PC and say I have no favourite lesson but I do and it is always those ones at the start of the 3rd Form were we do loads of demos, plenty of pops and bangs! That is such fun. The end of term ones are also good value. The mark of a good Chemist has to be made on the ceiling!!

What do others say about you?

I have no idea what others may say. Hopefully they would say that I’m a good teacher and a supportive tutor.

Other hats

I have been in charge of Badminton since arriving and I am fully involved with the Duke of Edinburgh scheme where I have been a leader to Silver and Bronze teams. Tennis and squash are also sports I play.

Passions

I love the outdoors - horse riding, golf (although a beginner) and gardening.
