Life before Stowe
I am an ex-taxi driver (I still keep my Hackney licence in my wallet!) who did some part-time teaching on the side. It turned out that my aptitude for teaching was much better than it was for my driving, so I made the decision to enter education full-time.
What do you enjoy most about Stowe?
The space and the fresh air. You step outside your classroom and you can see for miles, with only a few head of cattle, the odd sheep and a lapwing or two ... wonderful!
What is your favourite Lesson?
I love teaching the Sixth Form their enthusiasm for languages and their commitment to study and improve their linguistic skills really shows.
Other hats
I run clay-pigeon shooting at Stowe. We had an amazing start, winning the Warwick Challenge in my first year. We are fortunate to have three very good instructors at the School.
Passions
I love growing plants in my conservatory. My real passion is trees, and Stowe is a paradise in that regard. There are still a few I can't identify. Also, my family and I love cycling - going around Pitsford Water or Rutland Water, or any other water we can find, almost on a daily basis in the summer.
