Young Enterprise
Young Enterprise, revived at Stowe in 2005, aims to help and encourage Stoics to set up and run their own business. They register as a Private Limited Company for one year and are responsible for all areas of running and organization that a new business requires.
In 2005, six Stoics have set up their own company, Pulse Parties, organising and running club/party nights in London. Pulse Parties was the inspiration of James Hemsley, along with Tommy Williams-Jones, Matthew Williamson, Alex Georgallides, Winston Reynolds and Charlie Duckworth. They attended regular meetings and learnt about many aspects of running and setting up a business. The Stoics were very fortunate in that they had an on-site supervisor at Stowe. Marcus Grant was taking a sabbatical from HSBC to work for the National Trust, when not gardening he advised the company on ideas they had.
Pulse Parties hosted their launch party at the Mayfair venue, 'The Embassy' on 12 February 2006. Tickets were sold through a channel of representatives at other schools. Over 400 people attended from many of the country's leading public schools. The evening was a great success and the hard work paid off. Over £10,000 worth of revenue came into the business from this event.
We are hopeful that this years Company will enjoy similar success. Please check this site regularly for updates about their current performance
