Yoga Yoga is beneficial for keeping the body strong and flexible, complimenting other physical activities, and allows the mind and body to fully relax. Meditation and breathing practices are used to keep the mind focused and relaxed, which is useful for studying and during demanding times. Yoga not only helps the pupils through their academic period but also provides tools for a happy and balanced life. As an activity session, Yoga is enjoyed by a large number of Stoics. It is a weekly session, and consists of a series of stimulating and energising breathing exercises. The course evolves from the basics and gradually becomes more demanding with practice. With the guidance of a qualified instructor, Trish Munro, yoga helps the muscles and the mind unwind, in an hour long session.
Quote from a Stoic: "I really enjoy yoga, especially as it's at the very end of the week, on a Friday afternoon. It is one of my favourite activities, and I feel really stretched (both physically and mentally!) by the exercises, and I get satisfaction out of feeling them become easier with practice. It's a relaxing end to the week, and looked forward to by everyone in my group."
