Chapel

The Christian Faith lies at the heart of Stowe's spiritual identity. That the first major building work undertaken in 1927 was the Chapel bears witness to this identity, as does the scale on which this was done. However, Stowe welcomes all people, irrespective of their faith, and many religions and outlooks are represented within the body of the school.
Chapel happens three times a week (Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday) and marks the coming together of the whole School. While attendance is compulsory, pupils are free to participate or simply observe as they wish.
For the sizeable Stowe Christian community, and those interested in exploring the Christian message, there are many opportunities for discussion and exploration. Weekly Bible Studies take place for each year group and are well attended. Crossfire (the Christian Union) meets weekly. There is also an active programme of outside speakers to stimulate pupils and introduce new topics. Confirmation classes are popular and a Confirmation service is held every year.
The Chapel is always open and offers a place of quiet reflection. Our supportive family atmosphere and Christian ethos encourage pupils to develop a lasting sense of moral, social and spiritual responsibility.
