Sailing involves a large and enthusiastic band of both boys and girls in the Summer term. All ages can participate. Stowe has a fleet of six International 420 racing dinghies at Great Moor Sailing Club at Calvert, along with a rescue boat. Toppers are used for training beginners on the Eleven Acre Lake at Stowe. The Sailing Team competes against similar schools in six-boat matches either on home water or at the sailing club used by the other school. Stowe also enters large annual competitions and in Summer 2006 the Team achieved its highest place at the Eastern Region Team Championships for a number of years. A keenly contested Inter-House competition is also run each year, as well as individual competitions for Senior and Junior sailors. Master in charge: Mr Michael Bevington
