Creative Writing
A group of mainly Sixth Formers meets weekly to write creatively: drafts, finished pieces, work inprogress; stories, poems, plays. Mr Steven Thompson gives advice and encouragement. Part ofthefun is reading out often unfinished - pieces to each other, but there is no compulsion to recite. This activity is very important in giving opportunity for Stoics to showcase their talents in creativeareas and also in allowing individuals to explore their imaginations in a stimulating but relaxedenvironment, removed from the ordinary hustle and bustle of school life.
The group eventually produces its own magazine. Mr Thompson submits selected pieces to theSchool's annual magazine, The Stoic, for publication, and some are recited in a special LiterarySociety meeting.
