Stowe today is on the rise, our outlook buoyed by the confidence that comes from sustained achievement and a reputation for promoting excellence. Our student body is ripe with accomplishment and even greater potential. Our alumni have emerged as leaders in all realms of society. And the House is being transformed through a programme of spectacular restoration. These foundations present a fine opportunity: with further significant investment we can bring to life the vision of Stowe as one of the country's leading schools in the most sublime setting.
We are privileged to be the stewards of Stowe, bridging the gap between its historical legacy and its future potential. Correspondingly, our development goals are appropriately ambitious. Within the next 5 years, we seek a total of £16.1 million, in addition to the £15 million already raised. This will be spent predominantly on a vital sequence of major capital projects for both the School and the House. A substantial sum will be dedicated to investing in the student body itself in the form of enhanced Scholarships and Bursaries.
Stowe is a relatively young school; the size of our present endowment limits our ability to offer all the opportunities that we aspire to provide. The Campaign for Stowe now appeals to those who care about Stowe and its future to lead a bold fund-raising programme and thus inspire further giving from a wider community. We must act now to put Stowe on a sound footing for generations to come.
