The New Music School
Music has always flourished at Stowe. Since the time of Dr. Huggins, who was Director of Music from 1929 to 1952, it has permeated the life of every member of the Community. The new Music School represents the most significant capital project ahead for the Campaign for Stowe. It is an immensely exciting project that will address the current shortcomings of facilities at Stowe, and provide a faculty building that we will all be proud of. The cost of the new building is likely to be c. £5.5 million.
Architectural plans for the new facility are currently being developed by the world-renowned architect Rick Mather (responsible for the design of the new girls’ boarding houses, currently being constructed).
In fundraising terms, we are beginning by speaking, on an individual and private basis, to those who may be able to support our vision for the new Music School at a significant level. We look forward to establishing significant levels of support before then fully launching the appeal for the Music School publicly.
In the meantime, if you would like any more detailed information about the Music School on a personal basis, or believe you may be interested in supporting us, please contact the Director of the Campaign for Stowe, Colin Dudgeon, who will be very pleased to talk to you.
